The Number 1 Premium Rum Brand In The USA and For Good Reason!

Our Notes

An elevated spiced rum made with pure Barbadian limestone water. This rum from the original rum island is suitably piratical in design, with embossed "X" and map of the Caribbean, but sophisticated on the palate. Perfect for sipping neat but will fit nicely into whichever rum drink you prefer.

From The Distillery

Flagship Bumbu is an exquisite all-natural craft rum made with native Caribbean ingredients and aged for up to 15 years in Grade A oak bourbon barrels to create an effortlessly smooth and balanced rum with complexity and depth.

The heritage of the product dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries, when sailors and merchants of the West Indies added Caribbean fruits and spices to their rum to enhance its flavour, calling it "Bumbu".

The Orginal
Bumbu Rum Co.

In Barbados, where Original Bumbu is made, rum isn’t just another spirit. It’s the original rum island, where rum was first created some 400 years ago. Bajans have spent the last few centuries perfecting the art of distilling and blending our country’s most famous export.

Bumbu Rum Company craft their rums from a blend of the finest sugarcane they can find. The rums are exceptionally balanced and smooth, without sacrificing the richness and complexity that makes their distilleries in Barbados and Panama the world’s best.

THE DISTILLERY
Like No Other

Bumbu Original is made at a historic Barbadian distillery founded in 1893 and continuously operated for more than 120 years. Bumbu rum is distilled using two continuous stills. The yeast used during fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back as far as 1840, when some of our original iron pot stills were cast.

They also got a lovely white-sand beach a few steps out the back door. Tough life.

THE HEART
Unlike Any Other

Original Bumbu's heritage isn’t just historical – it’s geological. Unlike most Caribbean islands (formed by volcanos), Barbados was created by coral reefs. Here, the ground water is purified as it’s forced through our natural limestone, making Barbadian water some of the finest in the world.

This exceptionally pure water, coupled with carefully selected sugarcane from across the Caribbean and South America, lends the lightness and smoothness that’s central to Bumbu’s remarkable drinkability. Pure Bajan water forms a part of each bottle of Bumbu.
