Eldredge’s “Spring Gully” Riesling is a textbook example of the stellar Clare Valley style, dry and mineral with zesty acidity and a powerful aroma.
It’s a remarkably food-friendly one, too - try this lighter Thai dishes or some grilled fresh seafood.
Our classic Spring Gully Riesling was first bottled in 1993 with fruit coming from a vineyard in Watervale until 2000. From 2001 forward, the fruit has come from our very own Eldredge vineyards in Spring Gully. The colour is pale straw with light green hues, the bouquet is elegant with floral notes, along with citrus and a hint of lime and mineral. On the palate there is an exciting persistence and depth of varietal fruit flavours enhanced by the crisp, dry finish. This is a style that can be enjoyed young and fresh however with cellaring it becomes an indelible treasure! This wine compliments all styles of cuisine especially spicy food, seafood and white meats.
Situated on the Spring Gully scenic drive route, Eldredge Wines has become one of the best kept secrets of the Clare Valley due to not only its unique location but also its internationally award-winning wines.
Located west of Sevenhill on the boundary of the Clare Valley over looking the Blyth Plains, the vineyard sits 440 metres above sea level and rises to 530 metres at its highest point. It is an excellent tourist destination and vineyard site which produces high quality Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot, Malbec and Riesling.
