Paxton’s “NOW” Rosé is named for its fresh young style and immediate drinkability - drink NOW! - but also for the Paxton philosophy of Natural Organic Winemaking.
Not a typical rosé in any way, and if it weren’t for the colour you might not know it was one at all - there’s some tropical notes you definitely wouldn’t expect from a rosé (guava, maybe? apple?), a hint of nuanced strawberry giving a quiet nod to the red-grape origins, and a crisp minerality.
NOW by PAXTON stands for NATURAL ORGANIC WINE. The consumer market demand has been growing steadily for Preservative Free/Natural wines. As leaders in organic production, it was obvious that Paxton needed a product for this category. In addition to Natural, PF & Organic, we wanted to make a young, drink NOW style Rosè that was different from our existing Rosè style.
A titan of Australian winemaking, Daniel Paxton's career stretches as far back as the 1970s and the historic vineyards (all organic and biodynamic) from which his operation sources his fruit are some of the finest and oldest in the McLaren Vale. New head winemaker Richard Freebairn, who now heads the operation, is noted for his innovative approaches, has been awarded several trophies, and is well on his way to similar industry notoriety.
